Selection process

Please read the information below to understand the selection process before uploading your application materials to the BioSustainability Design Fellowship Programme

To be eligible for the fellowship, all applications materials must be submitted in English. Below you can read more about each material.  

Preparations

You are required to upload the following materials to be eligible to apply for a fellowship: 

Please remember: All application material must be in English. 

Please submit a clear and concise CV that follow these criteria: 
 

  • Work experience: List your work experience in chronological order, so it is easy to see which positions you have held, where you worked, and when (latest experience first). 
  • Educational background: Include your educational background and clearly state your degrees, institutions, and dates. All names should be in English 
  • Brief description: Focus on relevant information and keep descriptions brief and easy to read. 
  • Format: Use a simple, professional layout with clear headings and consistent formatting. 

We request a short, written cover letter to learn more about the person behind the application (minimum font size 11, maximum 500 words). We encourage you to share with us your passions, values, and vision for your future when answering the following question: 

  • Why are you applying to the BSD programme? 
  • With what skills and experience can you contribute to the interdisciplinarity of the BioSustainability Design programme?  
  • What impact do you expect this fellowship to have on your career path? 

Video Essay 
Record a short video (no more than 2 minutes long) and answer the following two questions: 

  • Where do you live, what do you do, and how did you end up in your current situation? 
  • Describe a decision you made that resulted in a failure. What happened and what did you learn?

 

Upload the video to the recruitment platform along with the rest of the requested materials. 

Hint: If your LinkedIn profile is updated, the downloadable PDF version is sufficient (go to your profile, click the button with 3 dots below your name, and choose Save as PDF). 

Please merge your CV with a copy of your diploma from your highest completed education. There are several free services online to merge PDF files. Just search for “PDF merge”. 

Please note, the PDF and video-files must not exceed 10 MB each.

The deadline for submission our application is 14th of March 2027. 

You will receive a confirmation email when your application has been submitted and received by us.  

Selection process and important dates

The Selection process and its 5 stages for the BioSustainability Design Programme.

After the deadline, we will review all applications and notifying those who proceed to stage 3 of the assessment phase where you are invited to an online assessment workshop, a personal interview, and submission of two written assignments.  

Please note in your calendar the relevant dates for your chosen geographical location in case you proceed to stage 3 in the selection process: 

Assessment workshops: 

  • For Aarhus applicants: April 6th from 14.00 – 19.00 CET 
  • For Copenhagen applicants: April 20th from 14.00 – 19.00 CET 

 

Personal interviews (20 minutes per applicant):  

  • For Aarhus applicants: April 12th – 14th  
  • For Copenhagen applicants: April 26th – 28th  

 

Final Selection:

After the workshop and interview, the BSD team will selected 8 fellows per location, which will recieve an official offer to confirm their commitment to the programme. 

Kick off:

The programme’s second cohort will kick off in both Copenhagen and Aarhus at September 2027.

All dates are in 2027. You will get information about the workshop in an invitation email from the Danish Technological Institute. No matter the outcome of your application, we will contact you by e-mail no later than the end of May. You will also be notified if you do not progress to Stage 2.
